A free nine-hole course for up to eight people, with video chat — and your webcam on your ball. Make a room, send one link, tee off.
Mini golf is the one game on Kosmi built for a crowd rather than a duel. Eight people can be in the round, the rest of the room watches, and nobody has to leave the call to play.
Each player's ball wears their live webcam, wrapped round the sphere — or their avatar if the camera's off. You get to watch yourself roll into the pond, and so does everybody else.
Take a seat, an admin starts the round, and play goes round the green. Anyone in the room who isn't playing can still watch and talk.
The course runs in the browser, on a laptop or a phone. Your friends open the link and sit down — no app, no account.
Press Play against AI and Kosminaut takes a seat. It picks its putt from a shortlist — straight in, banked off a wall, laid up — and misses often enough to be worth beating.
Drag away from the ball and release. There's an aim line that shows one bank off a wall, a power ring that warns you before you smash it, and no spin to learn.
When the round ends, the same room does watch parties, pool, shuffleboard, poker, card games and retro consoles. You don't have to move anywhere.
Always the same nine, always in this order, so a card means something. Each one has a par and a pick-up limit — run out of putts and the ball is lifted and scored one over.
| 1 · First Putt — par 2 | A straight open run with nothing in the way. Somebody will still miss it. |
|---|---|
| 2 · Dogleg — par 3 | A right-angle corner, then a peg planted in front of the cup. |
| 3 · The Pond — par 3 | Water, and a panel tilted towards it. Then a gate of two pegs to thread. |
| 4 · Up the Hill — par 3 | A ramp to a plateau. Putt it softly and it rolls all the way back to you. |
| 5 · The Windmill — par 4 | Four turning blades over a tunnel through the house. Timing, then pegs. |
| 6 · The Jump — par 4 | A ramp to a lip, a gap to clear in the air, and rough to land in if you're short. |
| 7 · Pinball — par 4 | Ice underfoot, three bumpers that kick, and a spinner in the middle of it. |
| 8 · Clockwork — par 5 | A fan that blows against you half the time, a trapdoor on a timer, a pipe that swallows the ball, a sliding gate and a half-pipe. |
| 9 · The Gauntlet — par 12 | Everything at once, on a double-S of five runs across three levels: windmill, bumpers, slopes, a jump, a cliff, a spinner, three water hazards, a pipe, a fan, a trapdoor — and a fake cup that sends you back where you came from. |
Stroke play, refereed by the course, so you know what you're teeing off into.
| Game | Nine-hole mini golf, stroke play |
|---|---|
| Players | Up to eight; anyone else in the room can watch, eight of them on camera |
| Starting | Take a seat; a room admin tees the round off with whoever is seated |
| Scoring | Every putt is a stroke; lowest total over nine holes wins, and a tie is all square |
| Pick-up limit | Each hole has one — a ball still out at the limit is lifted and scored one over |
| Water and out of bounds | No penalty stroke; the ball goes back to where you played it from |
| Order of play | Everyone tees off, then whoever is furthest from the cup putts — measured round the hole, not through the walls |
| The honour | Win a hole and you tee off first on the next one |
| Putting | Pull back and release; full power at a 120-pixel pull. No spin |
| Turn timer | 90 seconds, so nobody can stall the round — run it out and that stroke is forfeited |
| Camera | Overhead for everyone; you drop behind your own ball when it's your turn |
| Play again | One click for any seated player; the opening honour moves round a seat |
| Video chat | Built into the room |
| Cost | Free |
Create a Kosmi room with the mini golf course in it and send your friends the room link. Everyone who wants to play takes a seat, and whoever made the room starts the round — no account needed to join, and nothing to install on any device.
Up to eight at once, and everyone else in the room can watch. Play goes round the seats, so an eight-player round is a long, loud one rather than a broken one.
Yes, completely. The course, the video chat and the room are free, and there's no limit on how many rounds you play. Kosmi Premium exists for other things, but nothing about the mini golf game is paywalled.
Nine, always in the same order, so scores mean something. They start with a straight opener and work up through a dogleg, a pond, a hill, a windmill, a jump, a bumper hole, a clockwork hole with a fan and a trapdoor, and finish on The Gauntlet — a par 12 across three levels with everything on it, including a fake cup.
Stroke play. Every putt is a stroke, and the lowest total over the nine holes wins — a tie is all square. Each hole has a pick-up limit, and a ball still out at the limit is picked up and scored one over it, so nobody holds the round up. Hitting the water costs no extra stroke: your ball goes back to where you played it from. Winning a hole gives you the honour of teeing off first on the next one.
Pull back and let go. Press, drag away from where you want the ball to go, and release — the further you pull, the harder you hit it. There's an aim line that shows one bank off a wall, and a power ring that turns orange when you're about to hit it too hard. No spin: it's a putter, not a cue.
Yes. Each player's ball wears their live webcam, wrapped round the sphere, or their avatar picture when the camera is off. It's the whole joke of the game: you watch yourself roll into the pond.
Yes. An admin can press Play against AI and Kosminaut, the room's AI companion, takes a seat. It solves each putt from a shortlist — straight in, banked off a wall, laid up near the cup — and misses often enough to be worth beating. You can also putt around an idle green on your own while you wait for people to arrive.
Yes. On a phone the hole runs up the screen with the chat underneath, and the pull gesture is measured in screen distance so a putt feels the same with a thumb as with a mouse. Guests join straight from the room link without signing up.
